A 5,000-capacity multi-use venue to host a wide variety of events, including concerts, sports, and can’t-miss entertainment engagements.

The Sonnentag replaced the 70-year-old Zorn Arena on UW-Eau Claire's campus and is specially designed to accommodate multiple types of events, including being home to the university’s men’s and women’s basketball games and other athletic tournaments, indoor concerts, and other entertainment or sports events.

Food and Beverage

Although we do not permit food and beverage on our field, we do offer catering in our lobby outside of the fieldhouse. 

When filling out your rental request form, please indicate that you would like to discuss food and beverage options and our Director and Food and Beverage will be with you shortly!

Event Center Policies

  1. Wood courts are lined for basketball and volleyball.
  2. The following attire is required at all times:
  3. Shoes: Non-marking, closed-toed athletic shoes are required. Five-finger shoes are permitted. Moccasins, sandals, flip-flops, cleats, crocs, stocking feet and/or hard-soled shoes, and open-toed or open-heeled shoes of any kind are prohibited.
  4. Tops: Must be worn at all times.
  5. Water in a non-breakable, spill-proof container is the only beverage allowed.
  6. During non-ticketed events, food is prohibited at all times.
  7. Inappropriate/vulgar language and behavior is prohibited.
  8. Fighting and rough play are prohibited.
  9. The use of tape or other marking materials is prohibited on the surface or walls of the courts, unless permission granted by Sonnentag Staff.
  10. Throwing objects against the walls, bleachers, lights, or scoreboard is prohibited.
  11. Hanging on the rims or nets is prohibited.
  12. Do not lean, pull, or sit on the divider curtain.
  13. Footballs, softballs and baseballs, floor hockey, plastic jump ropes, and other activities that can damage the floor are prohibited unless there is a scheduled event that would require the use of those items with prior approval by Sonnentag Staff.
  14. All individual items must be kept in a locker. Staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  15. All arena equipment must remain in the arena area.
  16. Spitting is prohibited at all times.
  17. Priority scheduling governs facility usage.
